THE SCOUT TROOP UNIFORM
There are two official uniforms for Troop aged youth. These are described below.
Please contact the Scout Leader to determine which uniform that has been selected for the troop. The Troop Uniform and Troop handbooks can be purchased at the Scout Shop at 1345 Baseline Road, Ottawa.

- PROGRAM ACTIVITY uniform
- Pants: Navy blue or Tan
- Shorts: Navy blue or Tan
- T-Shirt: Green, Grey or Orange
- Vest: (Optional) "Bring on the Adventure" Green and Black Fleece Vest
- Necker: 1st Stittsville Necker or Gilwell Necker as appropriate
- FORMAL ACTIVITY uniform
- Pants: Navy blue or Tan
- Shorts: Navy blue or Tan
- Shirt: Traditional khaki shirt
- Sash: Red sash for badges earned throughout the year
Headgear is optional for either uniform.
CRESTS, BADGES and EPAULETS
Crests from camps and other Troop activities are put onto a campfire blanket or poncho. Badges and insignia are to be worn on the Troop Sash and uniform as indicated. Please consult your Troop handbook.
Troop members are required to wear their Scout shirt and sash each week and are expected to respect their uniforms and keep them clean. At each meeting a uniform inspection is conducted.
Other Uniform requirements include:
- Neckerchief (worn by invested Troop Member)
- The neckerchief is worn with the edges pointing downwards
- The color of the neckerchief represents the area that the Scout group that the member belongs
- Woggle
- Green in color, and used to secure the Neckerchief. The Woggle is used to hold the neckerchief so that it points downwards
- Epaulets (worn by invested Troop member)
- The epaulets are worn secured to the shoulders tabs. The Fleur-De-Lis should point outwards. A regular Troop member wears the epaulet without stripes
- The Troop Patrol Leader wears the epaulet with two stripes
- The Assistant Patrol Leader wears the epaulet with a single stripe
- Badges
- Uniform
- Permissible badges include Group, Group Area, Sponsor/partner emblems and service stripes. Badges are worn as directed by Scout Canada's policies and procedures.
- Sash
- Permissible badges include the activity badges which are earned as part of the Troop Star program, linking badges, sponsor and award badges. The position of each badge is directed by Scout Canada's policies and procedures.
1st Stittsville Group expects Parents to purchase the Troop uniform and Sash for their youth. Typically the Epaulets, Neckerchief and Woggle are presented to the youth when they are invested.
1st Stittsville have a program which provides financial assistance for registration into the Troop Program.
