Beaver Stew |
|
Picked this one up when I was with 251st Chapparal Scouts in Calgary. Do not know it's origin.
Have all the Beavers line up on one wall. Leader(s) with Keos if available in the middle of the room.
People in middle start making stirring motions with hands like they are stirring a big pot of something. Beavers yell Whatya making? You reply Beaver stew. Beavers yell what's in it? And you yell back an ingredient, Onions, carrots, old rubber boots, etc. Beavers yell What else? You give them another ingredient, etc and repeat this a few times. Then eventually when they ask What else? You say beavers and they all run to the other wall screaming for their lives. You try and tap them on the way before they get to the other wall. Those tapped stay in the middle and become stew makers.
You keep doing this until everyone is in the middle or you run out of time.
This has been done in Colony E and my previous Colony in Calgary and the Beavers ask for it by name.
The only issue is it takes a little time for them to learn what they are supposed to say. Could have a Keo on the Beaver's side to help out.

Hey Tic Tac,
This sounds like a great game. I'm going to recommend it. I would assume you could also change it up a bit for Cubs....Wolf Cub Stew.
Thanks for sharing.
