 Popcorn 2009!!! |

It's Scouts Popcorn time! As many of you are aware, 1st Stittsville Scouts has one organized fund raiser each year which is selling Scouts Popcorn. This week your youth will receive an envelope at their regular meeting which contains an information sheet, and order form. The format is the same as last year. Various sizes and flavours of popcorn which are ordered and paid in advance and then delivered in late November (just in time for the Christmas rush).
Approximately two thirds of the money raised goes back into the scouting movement with a half of that coming directing into 1st Stittsville to support programs, camps and activities through the year. Youth who sell more than $120 of Popcorn will receive a $40 refund from their registration fees. There are prizes for various levels of sales, and this year there is an extra cool incentive:
1) Beaver/Cub Level Prize (Beavers, Cubs)
Individual with highest total sales will receive a Nintendo DSi.
Individual with second highest total sales will receive $100 gift certificate to Future Shop.
2) Scouts/Venturer Level Prizes ( Scouts, Venturers)
Individual with highest total sales will receive an Apple 8GB 3rd Generation iPod Touch
Individual with second highest total sales will receive $100 gift certificate to Future Shop.
Beaver age youth are asked to approach friends and family rather than canvassing any specific areas. Cubs, Scouts and Venturers have been assigned areas near where they live. To ensure we don't canvas the same area multiple times, please consult the envelope for the location which the youth should cover. Youth canvassing the public are asked to wear uniforms so that they are recognized as a part of an organized activity. There are two order forms provided should a parent wish to canvas their workplace.
All cheques should be payable to 1st Stittsville Scout Group and the orders are due in to the popcorn co-ordinator for your section by October 30, 2009, so we can get the orders in a timely fashion.
