What is a Kit?

Post  What is a Kit? Reply with quote
When a child joins the Beaver program, they are called 'Kits'. A 'Kit' in both nature, and in the story "Friends of the Forest", is a young and growing beaver. In the scouting program, a 'Kit' is a Beaver who has not been invested into the colony. A Kit is considered a full member of the Beaver Colony, is assigned to a Lodge, and is permitted to wear the Beaver Hat and Vest, but not the 'neckerchief'.

To become an 'Eager Beaver' and earn the right to wear their Necker, the 'Kit' must understand and recite the "Beaver Promise, Law, and Motto", and participate in Beaver colony "Opening, Closing" and "Investiture" ceremonies.
