Scouts Canada believes that the best way to teach young children and foster responsibility is to provide a program that demonstrates encouragement and caring in an atmosphere of cooperation and non-competitiveness. Through the sharing theme, the Beaver program is intended to build self-confidence and feelings of self worth within the child. Through it, Beavers develop a sense of respect and caring for others as there is no pressure of the experience of competition.
