The Cub Book and Uniform |
|
The Cub Book is an essential part of cubbing. It contains much of the information that your child and you will need during the year, and outlines Badges, Awards, Crafts, Camping and much more. Is is requested that your child come prepared each week with their Cub Book, and take some time each week to read it's contents and find out all about Cubbing.
The Cub uniform is composed of the the traditional khaki uniform shirt with a red sash for badges earned throughout the year. Crests from camps and other activities are put onto a campfire blanket or poncho.
The official Wolf Cub Uniform and cub book can be purchased at the Ottawa Scout Shop on Baseline Rd:- Khaki uniform shirt
- Group Necker
- Red sash with yellow trim
- Yellow belt and buckle (optional)
- Cub hat (optional)
Wolf Cubs are required to wear their Scout Shirt, Necker, and Sash each week. Cubs are expected to respect their uniforms and keep them clean. At each cub meeting a uniform inspection is conducted.
Other Uniform requirements include:
- Neckerchief (worn by invested Wolf Cub)
- The neckerchief is worn with the edges pointing downwards
- The color of the neckerchief represents the area that the Scout group that the Wold Cub Pack belongs
- Woggle
- Yellow in color, and used to secure the Neckerchief. The Woggle is used to hold the neckerchief so that it points downwards.
- Epaulets (worn by invested Wolf Cub)
- The epaulets are worn secured to the shoulders tabs. The Wolf face should point outwards.
- A regular Wolf Cub wears the Cub epaulet without stripes
- The Wolf Six wears the Wolf Cub epaulet with two strips
- The Wolf cub second wears the Wolf Cub epaulet with a single strip
- Badges
- Uniform
- Permissible badges include Group, Group Area, Sponsor/partner emblems and service stripes. Badges are worn as directed by Scout Canada's policies and procedures
- Sash
- Permissible badges include the activity badges which are earned as part of the Cub Star program, linking badges, sponsor and award badges. The position of each badge is directed by Scout Canada's policies and procedures
1st Stittsville Group expects Parents to purchase the Wolf Cub uniform and Sash for their youth. Typically the Epaulets, Neckerchief and Woggle are presented to the youth when they are invested.
1st Stittsville have a program which provides financial assistance for registration into the Wolf Cub Pack Program.
