Help put food on the tables of those who may be less fortunate than we are. Early each December, the Stittsville Scouting and Guiding Groups will embark on a mission to stock the cupboards of our local Food Bank by canvassing the local neighbourhoods.
This is a great cause, one that will make your youth feel good, and know just how fortunate they are. This activity also focuses on the service aspect of Scouting, and that these events are the major part of the Community work performed by Scouting and that all youth are expected and to be encouraged to attend.
Please come and participate with us to make a difference in someones life!
Please remember to pick up the money containers and boxes from the Food Drive Co-ordinator on the night of your food drive, anytime after 5:30 pm. The groups that meet on Monday night can also stop by on Sunday evening, if that is more convenient.
While some LCBO boxes will be available at the Food Drive Co-ordinator’s home, please pick up a few extra boxes at your local LCBO store.
IMPORTANT: LCBO boxes are required because:
of box strength
of box size (youth and older Food Bank Volunteers can easily lift them)
of stack-ability (both in Scout storage and at the Food Bank
